Wireless drivers installed/Device not working

Hi, everyone. I am a new comer to Linux and It's proving to be a challenge for me get my Cisco AE1200 wireless-N USB device working. I've spent 2 days searching the internet for a solution to my issue, and I have finally come here in frustration.

I used the "windows wireless drivers" program to install the .inf file from the linksys website. The drivers are installed and the program says "Hardware present:Yes"

A few of the "how to" guides say to type in lsusb in the terminal and I get this:

Bus 001 Device 007: ID 13b1:0039 Linksys AE1200 802.11bgn Wireless Adapter [Broadcom BCM43235]
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 154b:0048 PNY
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 003 Device 002: ID 046d:c05a Logitech, Inc. M90/M100 Optical Mouse
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 058f:9360 Alcor Micro Corp. 8-in-1 Media Card Reader
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub

So the device is recognized, but the light is not coming on and the Wi-Fi is not working.

I followed a few other instructions to install a few different "ndiswrapper" links but I get a message that says "A newer version is already installed."

I am using Zorin 8 lite. I would really appreciate any help.

maybe this will be helpful:
Code:

echo uname: && uname -a -m -p && echo lspci: && lspci && echo lsusb: && lsusb && echo lsmod: && lsmod && echo ifconfig: && ifconfig && echo ifconfig -a: && ifconfig -a && echo iwconfig: && iwconfig && echo resolv.conf: && cat /etc/resolv.conf && echo route: && route -n && echo ping router: && ping -c 1 `route | awk '/default/ {print $2}'` && echo ping dns-server: && ping -c 1 `awk '/nameserver/ {print $2}' /etc/resolv.conf | head -n 1` && echo ping using ip: && ping -c 1 64.235.229.141 && echo ping using dns: && ping -c 1 www.02144.com
please copy-pasta the result so we can check your system for hardware devices/drivers.

seems like the module for your wifi card isnt loaded. i am duckduckgo-ing/google-ing to see what should be done.

...

seems like linksys doesnt support that card so installing a driver for it will be difficult.

problem solved

Thanks for giving it a try. I actually got it working somehow. I wish i could tell how i came about the solution, but after hours of playing with different things I decided the reinstall the .inf file and it works now. Thanks anyways for the help.
