wireless driver for HP D620 laptop

I just loaded PCLinux onto this laptop and everything seems to be working fine except there is no driver for the wireless card in the computer. The wireless card is a Broadcom BCM4311. Locating the driver is problem number one. Problem number two is how to install the driver once I have it. I used YUMI to do the install as a clean install erasing the HD which had been running XP. Any help would be greatly appreciated. In the meantime I'll continue to search for answers. Thanks in advance for any advice you can share!

Hi!

I just installed (yesterday!) the correct firmware for BCM4311. But, you didn't say which distribution you are using.

If you, like me, use Debian you can follow this guide:
https://wiki.debian.org/bcm43xx

More specifically, you need to install firmware-b43-installer:
Code:
apt-get install firmware-b43-installer
Once installed, it will do the job for you.

If you do NOT use Debian (or any of its derivatives), check out this link for information on other distros:

Best regards,
HMW

In most cases you can download or otherwise obtain the driver & put it into /lib/firmware, once you restart, you should then be able to configure your wifi.
