Wireless card woes

Alrighty, I'm pretty new to Linux in general, and I've been trying to install a LinkSys WPC-11 instant wireless card on my Dell Latitude C600 laptop running SuSe 9.1 (Kernel 2.6.4-52-i586) for *days* now, and it's driving me nuts. I've gotten pretty close, but I keep running into one specific issue:

After configuring, making all, and making install the linux-wlan-ng* drivers, I know the next step should be to edit the wlan-ng.opts file in /etc/pcmcia, but for some reason the file's not there!! There are a lot of similar files, such as wireless.opts and wlan-ng.conf, but I dont't think those are what I'm looking for. I assume it was supposed to be created during compilation of wlan-ng, but for some reason it wasn't.... (Pardon my ignorance, like I said I'm still learning)

Any ideas please??
