Well im kind of newbie to linux so forgive me if i use the wrong terminology or whatever. I just finished setting up my debian wheezy install. Everything is working fine now with the exception of the wireless. Its a dell wireless 1395 wlan card, which is actually a broadcom 4312 i believe. So i installed the driver located here
http://www.broadcom.com/support/802.11/linux_sta.php with the instructions of the read me. Only problem was ssb wouldnt unload because the ethernet was using it as part of the b44 driver. I kept trying rmmod ssb to unload it but it didnt work even with the ethernet interface down. This command finally made it unload.
modprobe -r b44 b43 b43legacy ssb brcm80211
Wireless is working now but everytime i boot i have to run the modprobe command and insmod wl.0 to make the wireless come up agian. And this makes the ethernet stop working. I need both to be able to work at the same time. Any help would be appreciated. I have blacklisted the ssb but it still loads every boot.
edit: used this
https://wiki.debian.org/wl to install driver again and now it works fine every boot minus the ethernet which still doesnt show up in ifconfig or in the kde network manager.
