Wireless access disappears after system update

After most updates to my system (Fedora Linux 36 (Workstation Edition)), my wireless disappears. Turns out it is being disabled in /sys/devices/pci0000:00/enable, setting the value to 0 instead of 1. Is there a way to lock this in where it doesn't change during the update?

As the /sys directory is built at boot, then what you describe is a symptom.
The 'rfkill' command might give some clues.

rfkill tells me that the wlan is unblocked. This tells me:

1. There are 2 types of block. hard and soft.
2. Not sure how this pertains to my wifi being disabled, unless blocking will do that.
3. I have no idea what to do next.

Any assistance is appreciated.

ID TYPE DEVICE SOFT HARD
0 bluetooth hci0 unblocked unblocked
1 wlan phy0 unblocked unblocked

rfkill shows everything is fine.

I'd try grepping wlan0 myself.

I see inxi comes in fedora also. Maybe the update changed your wireless name from wlan0 to eth1 or whatever.

Fedora uses the more modern naming for the wireless and ethernet interfaces. You can see the names and the state with the 'ip address' command. My desktop uses wlp4s0 for the wifi interface.

You should be able to configure the interface using the wifi settings from the icon in the upper right corner of the gnome screen. Having it repeatedly disabled is highly unusual and you may get more specific assistance at on the ask fedora forum at ask.fedoraproject.org
