Wirelees network icon

I'm very-very new to linux OS. I've installed the KUBUNTU distribution and i can't find the wireless connection icon so i can connect to the internet. there is a network jack icon next to the speaker icon but i don't know if it is the one for the wireless too. The funny thing is that now, that very moment i'm posting this question iam connected to the internet with my wireless, without knowing the network that i'm connected to or how to manage the connection. I may sounds silly but i need some help on this
