wired network not detected in jaunty


this occured all of a sudden.my desktop does not connect to wired internet eventhough it has been working fine for a month now.when i boot into windows, it works fine.in ubuntu, the two green lights glow and then a msg pops up saying "wired network disconnected".what can i do?

Hi we could use some more information to get you started debugging this... what does "ifconfig <your wired NIC device>" say? And does dmesg or /var/log/messages report of any link failure?
