AGAIN: you are NOT POSTING information. Stop posting pictures, and take the time to post actual messages. You are ALSO not being consistent, posting pictures of Lubuntu 18, 19, and Kodi...WHICH ONE are you trying to install???
AGAIN: go back to what you had and posted in post #6, Lubuntu 19. Boot from it, install it. You STILL aren't saying what you mean by "multiple screens", how long you're waiting, etc. You don't describe your steps, what you're doing, or why.
AGAIN: you have been a Linux user for TEN YEARS..you claim to have installed several versions in the past. How, exactly, did you/are you using Linux, if you can't install it???
Never had such difficulties installing Linux except for on this particular HP laptop. Thank you

Yet after three pages of posts, we *STILL* don't know what 'difficulty' you're having. Only that it "doesn't work", and you keep changing what you're trying to install, and not answering anyones questions.

Linux Lite is now installed, it wiped Windows - remains a video card difficulty, Linux shows several displays of the welcome page !

thank you for your help
Right; because you either haven't configured your displays to extend over multiple desktops, or it is just the LOGIN SCREEN, which will then take you TO the desktop. Again, after using Linux for ten years, not sure why these concepts are new.
I am certain it is a graphics card problem, I have installed Linux Lite and still have multiple screens but dont know how to get about correcting that. Thank you for your help
You've said something attune to this with several replies. Please look at the thread as a whole, because I feel there's no need to reply with multiple, singular posts all saying the same data. We now do understand that you have Linux Lite installed and that you are seeing graphical problems which you will need to resolve.
First:
If you type the sequence CTRL-ALT-F1 do you get a system terminal and only see a single one of those? If so, this will be helpful to know and also will be helpful for you to use to try and diagnose and fix your graphics driver situation. To exit back to the desktop you type the sequence CTRL-ALT-F8 or CTRL-ATL-F7 sometimes also works for this.
Second:
Based on your computer specifications HP Pavilion DV2000 you have graphics from NVidia. Suggest you research how to upgrade or install graphics drivers for Linux for NVidia.

Sir, being confined and discouraged with this machine and ready to use a sledge hammer, I decided to connect it to a 24 in. tv and Lo and behold all is well so it is the laptop screen that is at fault ( maybe ) - thank you very much for your concern with my difficulties, next time I will do otherwise with similar event.
