Question Wine Problem On Red Hat 9

I have Installed RED HAT 9 Linux & Now I Want To Run WINE on it . I had Installed a Wine RPM . but whenever i try to run wine from terminal it says
: /tmp/.wine-root/server.x.x no such file or directory
when i created a directory of the name then that says about a SOCKET etc.

I am new to linux and as i am switched from WINDOWS i want to run my own developed application to Linux.

Please Suggest me what to do

Upgrade to the latest version of wine. The problem you see is fixed there.
