Hi trying to install what i believe to be a fairly simple game. I think the problem its having relates to the installation shield. When i try to install i got the following errors after programs personal installation launched..
well cant post it forum keeps telling me i have two many images?
Look for a utility called "wine tools" which can help you to configure the base wine system.
My machine has pathetically slow video because I have to run the non-accelerated XServer (Damn you ATI, I need support for Radeon 8500 AND the 7500 in catalyst!) but I have tried installing games and they run - painfully slow (I badly need to upgrade) -- but they do run.
Prior to installing wine tools I did not have much success in getting wine to cooperate with any but the most self-contained apps (e.g., TextPad, WinZip, WinRar, etc.).
From what I understand, Crossover Office and Cedega include built-in support for many games (winetools requires a little more manual intervention) but so far, winetools does everything I need so I recommend you try winetools first, and if that won't cut it, check out Crossover Office and/or Cedega.
Ya i gave up out of frustration.. every time i try to post errors it tells me to many images in my post, even after i take all special char out, [,#,$ ect..
the game is RedMoon online i can even give you a download link for the game.
im not at my linux pc now but will try my hardest to re-creat the error and attempt to post it.
Here is the error i get. this is what is in my shell and i also get a pop up that says
The install shield engine (Ikernal.exe) could not be launched (0x800004005)
i hit OK and everything closes out.
Code:
vibes@localhost redmoon_stuff $ wine RedMoon353e.exe
