Wine can run only console application.

I have a strange problem, and I cannot find such problem in the archives at this forum.
I've installed Wine on Suse 9.2, I succeeded in running console-base application (like "Hello World" written on C), but when I try to run GUI application, I got an error like
- connote connect to display 0:0
I have XServer running, port for connection is open.

Maybe way off base here, but if you are logged into your console as root it will spit error mesages at you when trying to run gui apps on a normal users desktop....something very similar to the error message you posted. This may or may not be so in your case, I have never ran wine.Good luck and sorry if I am wrong and wasted your time....
