wine and winetools help

I have wine downloaded then I installed it through synaptic on Ubuntu. I then type in winecfg. Then I took a look at the drives under the drives tab.

Now here is what I don't understand. In widoz XP Home my 'd' drive is a restore partion, my dvdwriter is drive 'e' my cdrom-r is drive 'f'. But in wine my configuration shows only my cdrom as d; /media/cdrom0 but it doesnt's show my dvdwriter. So I've stopped there.

Now in winetools I clicked on base setup. It says do you want to create a new fake drive c. So I've stopped there also.

So how should I proceed with out messing something up?

Re: Wine

I am not sure if Wine would work with your second CD/DVD drive ... which would explain why it does not show up.

You must create a fake drive c so all the Windows applications can be installed there.
Wine makes new directories on our Linux partion (in your home directory).

Any reason why you are using Wine when you are dual booting with Windows ??
