Wine

http://www.winehq.org/
oder
http://sourceforge.net/projects/wine/

If WINE is not already installed, then you can get it from the repositories using Synaptic (Kmenu-->System-->Package manager)

You might want to check into CrossOver Office (www.codeweavers.com) This is a commercial port of WINE (free trial available)

By the way, it's MEPIS, not Memphis (The latter is a city in Tennessee, USA)

Like it says, not every windows program run on every Windows. You can change which version Wine pretends per program; run
Code:
winecfg
from command line for example and you are presented with some options of Wine. The tab for applications lets you add (the button) programs you've installed with Wine (basically locate the application's exe file and add to the list) and below the list you can choose from a drop-down list which version of Windows is "emulated" for the application you've hilighted in the list. Try setting that for your program to a Windows version it's meant to be run on; then "Apply" and "OK" and try to re-run the program. It doesn't mean the program runs with Wine at all, but it might help.

I believe most users on these forums use english because that's a very general language when it comes to computers, and because there are users from several countries and not every language is known to everyone, it's generally english that is used here because it's very probable that people know that. And because the site is written in english, it's pretty sensible. So if you can, I advice you to write in english to make sure most people could understand it (I take it that you understand english because you were able to write an answer).
