i installed SUSE linux yesterday as i had heard/seen so much about it i thought id give it a try.

i have downloaded the program WINE and finally worked out how to install it but i cant really get it to do well... anything its not on my program list and if i try and open a .exe with it i get the WINE logo for a while then nothing

is there anything else i have to do to setup WINE?

Before trying to run a program with wine you should run winecfg. That will allow you to setup the environment for Wine, specifically directory paths to be mapped to virtual Windows drives.

you can also type wine as a normal user and it should generate you a wine config file in your home directory.

Also, if you are going to use your cd or dvd drive for any wine apps, you may want to link your drive into your ~/.wine/dosdevices directory.
