windows XP messed up my computer again...

It's a really long story, so ill just cut to the chase. I need a way to make a boot disk in windows so that i can access rescue mode or just boot into linux or whatever because i need to restore my mbr. I had a friend try to write an image to a disk, but he knows even less than me, so basically all i have is a cd that boots into the installation prompt thing for 9.0 (im running 8.0 by the way) and when i type "linux rescue" it asks me where the rescue image is and the cd doesnt have one and it also cant find one on the hard drive. I forgot my installation disks at home and it will be a while before i can get them. Is there somewhere i can download the images and put them on disks?
