Hi

I am new to Linux (apart from using where i previously worked) and want to build a media centre windows are charging a hell of a lot for there windows xp media centre and I was wondering if there is a Linux version/substitute?

If so is there anything that i need to be aware of before taking on this project?

Thanks for any help/advice given

Not really any problem with making a media center from any version of linux. Just make certain your hardware is supported. After that things to make a media center are a (insert package manager here) away.
