Windows XP Hidden files on a DVD

I'm having trouble viewing files that were hidden in windows with my Knoppix HD-installed machine.
I've tried altering the settings in Konqueror, and I've tried ls -a. in a root shell. The files still don't show. The file is on a DVD R, so I can't change the privileges. Windows reads them fine, but linux can't read them. The ls -a just shows linux hidden files. I've tried ls --help, but it doesn't seem to have any options to enable the viewing of files hidden by windows.
If anybody can help me get to these files, I would appreciate it.

I don't think linux cares about the windows' "hidden" flag on files.
Besides, DVD uses UDF filesystem. So my bet is - there is some other problem, like maybe disc was written nonstandard way (packet writing?)

I just wrote it with Nero under XP.
I can read the non-hidden files on it, but not the hidden ones. Any ideas?
