windows VS linux

I had 2 systems running everything identical even down to the screws. One was an XP system and one was a redhat 8.0 . Something happend to a few of the components on the linux system so i am waiting for components. Being the inginious guy I am. Since i generally work on my linux box. I took out the linux HD put it to my windows system. Windows(primary) Linux(secondary). I can't boot to linux without unplugging the windows drive obviously because i didn't set it up using lilo for dual boot. (and linux is perfectly fuctional when i do unplug the windows drive) Can i do anything so i can enable dual boot or do i just need to wait for the components for my linux box to come back ???

you should insatll lilo or grub onto the linux drive, and then set the windows drive as slave. have a search on this site for me talking about "map drive" e.g
