windows on linux.

mandrake 10.0
i have vnc server installed on my linux box.
i have software for windows.
now i can display linux on windows.
but i am not able to control windows on linux.
how can i give the display name for windows.

and every time i have to run #vncsserver ------------->and start the localhost:1

then only i can get linux on windows.
now i want to start display :1 whenever the computer starts.

and pls help me how to get windows screen on linux.

You shouldn't need to give a display number. Windows only has one display and the viewer will default to this.

i think there're two different questions here; a little attention to grammar would have made that far more obvious at first glance. To view your windows desktop in linux, go to and download the win32 vncserver installer. Then on linux, just
$ vncviewer windoze-address

I also noticed the # on your prompt.... please tell me you're not starting vncserver as root... This is BAD. vnc has extremely weak security, and anyone who hacks in will have full root access to your computer. [BAD]

I know on debian, there exists a program for customizing which programs load for each runlevel -- you could go edit the initialization scripts yourself... try google for init scripts.
