Nvidia drivers for Linux shouldn't have anything to do with your Windows problem, though it appears to have solved the Kali issue. From the evidence you give, the black screen happened due to running chkdsk in Windows! Play Bonny! :hattip: |

I don't use Windows so I've no idea. Play Bonny! :hattip: |
Try holding down the power button and count to 20 and then boot up windows. Did you try boot windows in safe mode?

I would repeat the suggestion above to try a windows forum since it is a problem with windows only. Also, what is an 'srttrail error' you mention in your initial post? It would probably be useful to indicate which release of windows you have so people don't guess at it and also whether both systems are UEFI or Legacy installs.

try this, edit you /etc/default/grub to add/modify these lines
Code:
GRUB_GFXMODE=1024x768 run update-grub as root. |

yeah man i posted this in windows forums too and also both are uefi installled and my i have win 10 and kali linux 2020.1 |
Will windows boot if you use the uefi boot menu that comes up when the esc or f-key is pressed when you first turn on the computer?

If you are unable to boot from the BIOS firmware by selecting the windows option there we can eliminate Grub/Kali from the problem. Did you mount the efi partition from Kali to check to see if the windows efi boot files are still there, same with the windows partition where you also have boot files. Did you again get just a black screen booting from the EFI file?

open a terminal and post the output of
Code:
lsblk -f |
