Question windows not fitting??

i'm running red hat 8 kde 2. some of my windows mainly the configuration windows don't fit on my screen. i change my resolution but when i reboot and startx again it looks exactly the hat says that it's running on like 1024 x 768 but it looks the same as if it was running on 640 x 480. help i can't see my windows!

Can you reboot your PC, then enter the BIOS setup and increase the memory for the AGP? On my BIOS it is called "AGP Aperture", it could be called something different on your PC.
Try increasing it and then come back and see if higher resolutions work.

Edit you XF86config file to have only the resolution you want.
