Windows escappee- lots of help windows with DDE error

Hi! chicago area Business Analyst here- typically involved with large enterprise portals, knowledge and content management projects. Moved to Ubuntu about a year ago-Noticed major problem recently- clicking Help results in being inundated with new help screens, DDE Error dialog (in LINUX?!?) and Rhthym Box opens and then immediately closes.

I know I did somethinh wrong, but no clue what it was.

Any help?

Hey scotwitt!

Okay, whenever some program behaves bad, I try to run it of the console. perfectly possible and it leaves feedback on the console as it goes along...including error and help messages.

Let's start there...then work our way up the bean stalk...

Please post what "screams" the program leaves on the console.

My guess is that a (small) part of your system is not up to scratch...have you done a system-update lately by the way?

This thread is in my watch list...so I'll check back!
