Windows address bar equivalent for KDE

OK, back in my windoze days, on the taskbar I had an address bar, which launched in firefox whatever URL i put in, or opened a folder if i typed a path.

What I'm after is an address bar equivalent for KDE. Im not bothered about opening folders, but a firefox address / location bar (whatever its called) would be handy.

I know you can add the run command to the panel but its not as comprehensive as the firefox bar (ctrl-enter for .com etc) and it launches konqueror, not firefox.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

For info Im running KDE 3.5.1-2.3 Redhat on 2.6.16-1.2080 Fedora Core 5

Cheers!

I never tried this before but I thought I would try to add the 'Run' command to the taskbar and it did what you wanted.
I clicked on one of the wee black up arrows on the taskbar and chose: Panel Menu -> Add to Panel -> Applet -> Run Command
Anything you type in there should be run included paths, web addresses etc - the open in Konqueror.

Hope this helped,
One newbie to another,
jonny

I thought KDE had a utility to change the default web browser, file manager, media player, etc. Wouldn't that alleviate the run command woes?
