window settings in fed0ra core3

In fedora core 3, when I open for example /home/me/dir1/myfile, several windows "pop up" when I double click on the folder /home, another window pop up when I double click on dir1 and so on until I open the file myfile.

I would like to know if there's a way to make all the links that click open in the same window..

I imagine you use gnome. You need to change the behaviour of nautilus to browser style (can't check the exact details on this pc, but check the settings or options or properties you can find in one of the dropdown menus)

Are you using GNOME? Then you are probably using nautilus. This is what nautilus does. I don't know where to turn it off, and if possible at all. I use Konqueror, it's much likw windows explorer.

You need to go to the nautilus preferences and select to always use "browser mode".
