window manager

hi all

in our lab we have pentium 3 machines with 128 ram..
but the vendors cheated the lab in charge ,
the motherboard is really a crap...
in some machines we have rh9 installed
i use window manager kde ,but its very slow ...
can some one tell me which window manager willl
give me a better perfomance ..
my consideration is mainly that it has to be light....

Blabkbox, Windowmaker, Fluxbox are all light-weight but you'll need to learn how to work woth them, they're quite different from kde or gnome

They should work fine - however you don't have things like a taskbar etc...
I use windowmaker and I run both qt- (kde-style) and gtk-programs (gnome style)

Try xfce at www.xfce.org. It is really beautiful and is user friendly.

Or IceWM. It's reasonably light and it has a taskbar if you want it.
