Question WinAmp port and dependency error???

Trying to get WinAmp Linux Port to install and after several days and several six packs I still can not get past a Dependency Error!

Running FC2 - Latest - Greatest - and recently Updated.

[root@Fedora2 ron]# ls
compat-gcc-7.3-2.96.118.src.rpm Joe Walsh My Documents
compat-gcc-7.3-2.96.126.src.rpm libpng10-1.0.13-13.i386.rpm Unknown Artist
compat-libstdc++-7.3-2.96.126.i386.rpm libstdc++34-3.4.0-1.i386.rpm Winamp-0.a1-1.i386.rpm
Desktop libstdc++34-devel-3.4.0-1.i386.rpm xmms-mpg123-1.2.7-13.i386.rpm
evolution libstdc++-devel-3.3.3-7.i386.rpm
flash-plugin-7.0.25-1.i386.rpm MP3_Music
[root@Fedora2 ron]# rpm -Uvh Winamp-0.a1-1.i386.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3 is needed by Winamp-0.a1-1

This is as far as I can get! I've been searching for the last two days and "libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3" does not turn up a rpm to download. In fact pbone listed 96 hits, all compat-gcc-7.3-2.96.118.src.rpm, and the like, but no libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3.

Many questions about the same thing and not a single answer will point to a URL to get the ibstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3, they all point to other libraries. ( I hope I'm correct in assuming this is a library? Right? ) I am new and it's been two days since I've had a Windows fix, but I do notice a theme in the Newbie Forum. And that is...

The learning curve is very steep, please do not assume we know anything. I'm not afraid to search and find my own answers, but most of the time I don't even know what question to ask/ Sometimes it is necessary to be very specific, even to the point of command line syntax.

OK, I'll get off my soapbox, I've said my piece.

I guess on the plus side. . . . I did get my printer to work across the LAN and I've gotten farther this time in getting Linux up and running and PRODUCTIVE to were I can actually use the machine than I've ever gotten before.

I will get this to work!

libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3. Provided by. compat-gcc-c++-7.3-2.96.126.i386, C++ support for Red Hat 7.3 backwards compatibility.

So to get the file you require means you need to install the compat-gcc-c++ package.

Might want to look at This Thread

Thumbs up WinAmp Linux Port

Sorry for the delay getting back, had some Passat problems pop up this weekend. Thanks fpr the help. That got me past the Dependency errors and it looks like the rpm did it's thing. One more item down, now on to playing those MS format WMV files.
