win partitions

How can I mount win partitions so that they can be written by other users than root?

I tried to mount and then chmod or chown but the permission is denied even for the root ; so I guess I must specify that when I mount them.

if your windows partition is NTFS then writing to it is still (as far as i know) still in beta for linux so your distro might automatically deny you the permissions i really dont know much about it though just one possibility
