Any1 have any suggestions about how to put some kind of floppy linux on the laptop that is running Windows 3.1

Basically, how do I install linux from Windows 3.1 in some way ?

I assume that notebook is a 486. As such it is just about 10 years obsolete. But you might look at the distros and see if you can do a net install with one of them. Peanut and Vector are small but the minimum on most distros now exceed your meager machine. You wont run a Xserver on it, but maybee a CLI. Might be time to retire that little box. (°¿°)

Depends of a lot of things (like hardware specifications, which you did not tell us ;)) and what you want to use that machine for (which you also did not tell us... ;)). If it's for a server, any Linux will do... if it's for desktop (text editing, web browser) then still, most Linux will do without X. Now, if you want X server _and_ an installation only with floppies, there's a Linux distribution which does it and I use it myself. It's called Grey Cat Linux.

No system is useless, but some older systems are getting harder to work with. Tho in years past I did run linux on a 386 of course. Recently installed MDK 9.2 on a pentium 150... But I'm having trouble with hardware on anything earlier than a pentium class machine. Even the pentiums are hard to keep running... I have a p166mmx with smoothwall, a p200mmx printer server and a p200mmx(@188mhz) running a dektop (upgraded the 150)... I gave up on the 486 as the hardware was getting real sad :(
