Not that this link answers your question because it actually does not discuss 32-bit distributions, but we have a stick thread in this forum related to how to pick a distribution, https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...ro-4175623119/.

I use Mint, but I'd urge you to research what you think you'd like in a desktop, because everybody has their own preferences, and there are many distributions which will work on 32-bit systems.

Performing a web search for "32-bit linux distros" will give you a bunch of distributions which will work on 32-bit systems.

Check out Lbuntu it supports 386 and has alternative versions and works
well with with older hardware. It's like Ubuntu. See the read me at

https://docs.lubuntu.net/lubuntu_ins..._old_computers

You can download it at

What currently supports 32-bit and what will support it next year are two different things. Ubuntu is dropping 32-bit, so that will rule out Lubuntu and also any distro based on Ubuntu code. Debian will continue to support it, but I'd recommend MX Linux, which is Debian "tamed". If your computer can manage Windows 10, it can handle MX.
