Will this work in Wine

Trying to help a friend out and recommending she switch from Windows 10 to Linux. She wants to still be able to use her
Digital Photo professional program that is put out by by cannon for her pictures. Will this work in Wine, or is there a comparable one?

Worth a try with Wine, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
As for (near) professional photo editing, yes, sophisticated alternatives exist - rawtherapee, darktable, gimp...

Have you checked with Canon to determine if they have a Linux version of that same program?

According to a small bit of research, it can run under Wine, and is not available for Linux:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digita...o_Professional

See the "Question Guidelines" link in my posting signature. Doing basic research should be done before posting.

And I'll second ondoho's recommendation for the three alternatives they mentioned. Darktable most probably does as much (or more) than a proprietary closed-source program from a single company. And that company makes cameras as their main business, not software.

You can always check the Wine application database when you have questions like this.
