Will Suse 9.3 Pro run on a athalon 64bit?
I just upgraded the box because it only had a 200w power supply and the hard drives were getting really really hot so I got a nice box with a 500w power supply.
Well I switched everything over and kept getting kernel panic, I tried reinstalling but got the same thing, got some error about ps2 not initiating so I decided it was time to upgrade the MB, etc So I ended up with a AMD 64bit atholon, but to get as far as installing it (it's not done yet), I've had to try install without aspi. Should I take this back and just get an intel board 32bit or will this run on 64 bit? The reason I ask is because while installing there are things that wont install, and I have to ignore them, do I have to install from the 2nd dvd (the source dvd or what) Thanks for your time |
Well you might just have to get a 64 bit version - there should (theoretically) be a download version of it available (not sure of the mirror address though) - you may find directions for it under "download linux" section here at LQ
