Will recovery discs work after partitioning

My son has been given a copy of Mandrake 9.1 by his school.
MY pc is a Tiny PC running W98.
On my PC I have Power Quest Drive Image 4 that I use to make a recovery image of my primary drive.
If I let Mandrake go ahead and partition my drive and create a dual boot system will the stored disc images that I have still work? Will they reset the hard drive back to its pre-partitioned state?

Many thanks in advance

Peter

I am told that RECOVERY DISKS, (for Windows anyway) assign partitions THEIR way. But you apparently made your own disk, which means that it should cooperate with you. If one can EASILY make a Linux OS CD, from Linux installed files, that might make it superior to Windows in that regard. I don't know how to do either. By the way, Windows XP has apparently made it VERY TOUGH for people to be flexible with XP CD's. THey'll only work on ONE computer.
