Will MS SQL run on a Linux box?

I am researching a new server that will run MS SQL. Is it possible to run this product on a Linux OS? I know there are a number of open source SQL and DB products, but this server has to run MS SQL. Thanks.

Nope.

Unless maybe it runs with Wine...but somehow I doubt it.

No pun intended but that question made me laugh..

AFAIK, Like tcaptain stated, MS SQL database will not run on Linux and I'm sure it won't ever run on Linux either. You could possibly run Wine but I would think that would be a very poor or unstable way to run it. Most likely wouldn't be very reliable.
