Wifi issue
Hi All,
I have recently installed Linux Mint 19.1 so i am completely newbie in this topic. Everything works great except of my wifi keeps disconnecting randomly. Once disconnected wifi is not finding any network and i am unable to change this unless i restart my machine. My Laptop: Code:
System: Code:
Code:
wlp3s0 IEEE 802.11 ESSID:"KoziolekMatolek" Regards |
Open up the terminal and run the command below to add a line in /etc/modprobe.d/iwlwifi.conf, it will add what's in between the brackets.
Code:
echo "options iwlwifi 11n_disable=8" | sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/iwlwifi.conf Code:
sudo xed /etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/default-wifi-powersave-on.conf Save the file and reboot. The value of powersave field are: Code:
NM_SETTING_WIRELESS_POWERSAVE_DEFAULT (0): use the default value |
^ sounds reasonable.
anyhow, i noticed these lines in your syslog, seems to be what's happening: Quote:

Thank you all,
I will try solution suggested by Brains and let you know soon if this has worked. ***Everything seems to workfine now, thank you*** Regards, |
unstable driver can be the issue. Newer firmware might be available and solves the issue. Newer driver even, probably from a github source. Other quirks for drivers that don't yet have fixes, like disabling power-save modes.
Other possibilities like if you configure it on the CLI and there's a "manager" running, when it kicks in, it undoes what you did on the CLI. So stop that "manager" before you do a manual CLI configuration. Or actually use the manager to establish the connection. nmtui for network manager on some distros for the CLI option of that "manager". Or just wifi bridge through another device over ethernet. |
