wider screen

Hello,
I am using Redhat 7.2 (together with W2K) on a laptop. Dual boot is done via GRUB. I would like to know how to increase the size of the viewable screen when using Linux in text-based mode (that is not X). Currently it occupies only a small central portion of the whole display. Any one can help? Thanks. Also, if I want to enable the scrolling button of my mouse, what should I do, please advise. Thank you all.

well, i *think* that's just a case of changing your screen dimesions on your screen. It maybe related to the framebuffer, which you might want to try changing modes for. look at the framebuffer howto at linuxdoc.org for details of different framebuffer modes and how to set them in grub.

also scroll wheels don't work in consoles if tha5t's what you meant. you can set them up for X easily. just search this forum for a solution
