WICD tray icon says not connected, WICD manager says conneted to wired network?!?!


hi, im trying to connect to my network on YDL, the WICD tray icon says not connected but when i open up the WICD manager it says connected to wired network?!? ive just re-installed YDL and previously i had no problems with wired connections so i cant update anything and the browser dosnt work either any ideas?
