wicd network manger and wifi solution


hi i have a desktop pc i run windows xp and install backtrack 5 r3 (GNOME )into VMware Player version 6.0.0. in the settings VMware i have one connection network adapter( nat)and network adapter( vmet0). i run backtrack and the command line type airmon-ng and and show me ( wlan0 -atheros ar9271- ath9k )i run fern and gerix and everything is ok show me network wireless but the wicd dont show wireless .
1.if VMware Player have problem i believe the programs (fern and gerix )don't show me anything .
2.i spend a lot of days for a problem and nothing , where is the broblem ???? ,where to see what is ???
someone tell me solution please .......

I suspect that the issue might be the VMWare configuration; what flavor VMWare are you running?

According to this, VMWare workstation does not allow direct access to the wireless connection.

As near as I can find out, you can access the wireless via a bridged network adapter, but you cannot access directly with VMWare player.
