Why the seamonkey can't run?

I have downloaded the latest seamonkey and extract it into /opt/seamonkey2.

Why can't run when to click the seamonkey?

Read the installation instructions. It's not finding the files where they should be. You need to extract the archive using the full path, so that it creates the appropriate subdirectories with the appropriate files in them.

you need to add the location to the system $PATH
or
use the script

see that shell script called " run-mozilla.sh"

there is another route:

in terminal:

1.download deb for 32-bit or 64-bit from this page

2.then install deb with software centre or command line

Code: sudo dpkg -i seamonkey-mozilla-build_2.21-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb

and there you have it for 13.10 ... start with

Code: seamonkey

from command line or from dash after reload or lock to launcher

2.21 is OLD

the current is 2.40
-- 64 bit build
https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/seamonke.../2.40/contrib/
