Why suse Linux 10.0 cannot play music

Hello Friends,

I shifted fro windows to suse 10.0. After installing the disks, I cannot play music. If i open amarok or kaffeine, the application is running but when I select a file to play, it just don't work, no sound, no video.

Please help if you understand the issue, Thanks a thousand

Well, I'd imagine you never installed the decoding software because your probably talking about things like mp3's. If you are talking about mp3's, this is why the distro ships with a notice that it doesnt have that software available because they'd have to license it for distribution.

There's a few thousand people who've left links on how to fix this all over this site. The search should work fine...
