why mount is the most busy task?


when I use top, the first task I see is mount.
Is this normal?
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND

NTFS: do you have an MSWin partition mounted?
Also, top just takes a snapshot of system activity every so often; let it run for a while and see if mount.ntfs remains at/near the top.

Yes, I have several MSWin partition mounted.
So you mean it just run at this period and will finish after?

I'd just kill it. In need re-run the mount. Might be worth chkdsk'ing the filesystem (from Windoze).
