why it is old version mozilla, when i install new one?


i install mozila 1.5, but when i open a html text in my hard disk, it is the old version
please help

Did you uninstall the old one? It's possible you left the old one on and it's in, say, /usr/bin, while your new one went to /usr/local/bin. So it's likely the old one gets fired up.

I think i installed old on in /usr/mozilla1.2
and my new version is in /usr/moziila1.5
i dont know why the old one startup when I type mozilla in the console(I started up gnome).
how can I startup the new one using "mozilla" int the console?

Have you checked what mozilla is referring to?
which mozilla
Mine was referring to /usr/bin/mozilla so I did mv /usr/bin/mozilla /usr/bin/mozilla.old and created a link ln -s /usr/local/mozilla/mozilla /usr/bin/mozilla
substitute whatever your paths are
