Why is Ubuntu charging?


I wanted to download Ubuntu to put in my computer and they wanted to charge me.
I searched for Linux Ubuntu download.

First, please see here. The more details we have, the better we can help you.

Can you provide a link to the page in question? Are you attempting to download from Ubuntu's official site, assuming this is for a desktop system?

EDIT: Is this what you're seeing? If so, just click on the words that say "Not now, take me to the download" on the bottom left. However, choose the version and architecture of Ubuntu you'd like, not necessarily the example I linked to.
