why is mysql not working in RedHat 9


hi...

i m having problem with sql its not working and when i write mysql on terminal it gives the message "command not found"...can any one plz help me for this...

and if my distribution is old can any one refer me the good linux distribution as i have to work on sql and gtk.

1 more questions if i install the new linux distribution over the existing does my harddisk got corrupted or i can easily install it???

plz do reply.

Did you check and make sure mysql is installed?

Yes, your distro is old. Use Fedora Core.

You can install your new linux distro as dual-boot meaning that when the boot loader menu comes up, it will give you the option of either loading your current OS or your new installed OS. But if you install your new linux distro over the existing one, well then yes, you will be overwriting it.
