why is it so difficult to get kde 3.2 beta installed?
i have been trying over and over to install kde 3.2, well, apt won't install it, when i download the packages i keep getting dependencies probs that are just insane. I found a redhat 9 apt source (i have fedora core) when i try to upgrade it won't allow it, nothing is selected for install after i have just selected it. I have been posting questions a lot on this subject, but nobody has any ideas on how to fix it. I have been all over the web, and nothing. I take it kde 3.2 is impossible to install and no one has it

[root@localhost ]# rpm -Uvh kdelibs-3.1.94-0.2.i386.rpm error: Failed dependencies: arts >= 8:1.1.94 is needed by kdelibs-3.1.94-0.2 qt >= 1:3.2.2 is needed by kdelibs-3.1.94-0.2 libvcard.so.0 is needed by (installed) quanta-3.1.4-1 libvcard.so.0 is needed by (installed) kdebase-3.1.4-4 libvcard.so.0 is needed by (installed) kdenetwork-3.1.4-1 and this is never ending, it goes on and on |
Try using Konstruct to build it:
http://developer.kde.org/build/konstruct//index.html It's safer than overwriting the old KDE anyway. :) |
