What do you mean, you can't install? Sure, it's not available from the repositories - even Fedora 8 doesn't offer any sun jdk although nearly every other Linux distro does - but you should be able to install by downloading the jdk from straight from Sun.

And by the way, why do you install a legacy jdk on a legacy operating system? Wouldn't it make more sense to install a recent jdk on a recent operating system?
