Why i am Not able to access other network from linux

Hi

I am not able to access other network from linux but i am able to ping other network using ping command.I am using linux Enterprises 3 edition.

So please help me out

Hi

We have share some fils on windows domain and workgroup that file we are unable to access from linux.
When we click on network servers we haven't see any other network(Windows domain/Workgroup)
but we are able to ping linux from both the side...
The network is connected via switch..

What constitutes "access other network", what is "other network",
how are those networks connected?
