Why does Tomcat 7 work without setting Java_Home ?
 

Hi.I was wondering why Tomcat works fine without setting the Java_home variable ? It serves jsp , servlets etc without Issue.
I don't know much about Tomcat and from the little I've read , setting Java_home Is necessary.

Why do you think that? Also, you have given no context at all. (i.e. what OS, version of tomcat/java, how you installed it or where it is installed, etc). Without more information there's not much of a discussion.

It's Installed on Debian 7.7.0 Wheezy.I Installed tomcat 7 via sudo apt-get.I read somewhere that It needs JAVA_HOME as a reference.
