Why does my terminal display of hostname changes by itself ?

Hello.
This is my first post in any forum, so please excuse me if anything is incorrect or incompletly asked.
So here is my problem
From around 2 weeks my hostname changes by itself and i wonder why.
I have also noticed that when logon prompt apears it says "user logon ip address" and the ip address has changed twice all by itself !!
Now the situation is: the terminal says: [root@222 ~]#
and "user logon 222....." same ips

It would be great if you at least help me find from where logon prompt reads to output the string with misterious ip address?

Best wishes,
Sb

Which flavor of linux are you using? I suppose automatically assign hostname is enabled your system. And you are connected to some router which is assigning you a new IP via DHCP and since your auto hostname is enabled it keeps on changing. In order to give you the exact steps how to disable this , I need to know which flavor of Linux are you using?

Centos 6.4 and i have a static public ip addres
Where is the option for automatic assigning hostname? so i can see whats happening

I suppose that option is not valid for centos. I saw it in opensuse. Anyways you can try the following steps to resolve your problem
