Unhappy Why does my screen show color bars when installing

I am trying install Fedora Core 2 on a Toshiba Tecra S1. I can see the part where it states that it is running Anaconda but then the screen goes black or it shows color bars in the horizontal position. How can I get past this to finish the installation?

Thank you,
truly a newbie
