why do some web sites seem not to work with iceweasel/firefox

I pay all my bills online. With almost all websites I have no problem accessing them using iceweasel with Linux. So far I have found one website which I can only access using Windows (even though I use Firefox rather than IE) and that is Southern Electricity.

When I access this site from Linux the page fails to display. Can anyone tell me how to overcome this problem?

Hi. Try useragent switcher addon and see if you can open that website setting useragent to IE.
